Extrusion process of automotive rubber sealing strips

Rubber sealing strips are widely used in passenger cars. The traditional main materials are rubber and polyvinyl chloride plastics. As the main raw materials of rubber sealing strips, various rubbers such as chloroprene rubber and ethylene propylene rubber can be selected. In recent years, ethylene propylene rubber has been widely selected as the main raw material of sealing strips due to its superior weather resistance and other characteristics.

As part of the auxiliary system of the passenger car body, the sealing strip system participates in the composition of the interior and exterior decoration system of the passenger car. Therefore, the sealing strip has both functional and decorative functions.

Generally speaking, the sealing strip system has the following functions:

1) Filling gaps;

2) Absorbing and reducing vibrations;

3) Isolating noise, preventing water, dust, etc. from penetrating into the car, and ensuring riding comfort;

4) Providing a moving channel for active parts;

5) Compensating for errors in sheet metal manufacturing and assembly;

6) Reducing wind and rain noise, etc.

As a visible component of the exterior, the sealing strip system also has a decorative function, participating in the composition of the A-level surface of the car body, and forming a coordinated and unified interior theme.

1 Types and classifications of passenger car sealing strips

Automotive sealing strips can be classified according to different classification standards. Common classification methods are:

1) Classification by use part; 2) Classification by stress change state during use; 3) Classification by material composition; 4) Classification by sealing strip structure.

1.1 Classification by use part

Classification by use part is the most common classification method and the most accepted by people because it can intuitively show the location of the sealing strip. In order to standardize the naming method of sealing strips, the relevant industry is discussing the formulation of national and industry standards to eliminate the current non-standard state.
