What is the radiator core?

The core is the part of the radiator between the tanks. It is made up of tubes that carry the coolant and fins that transfer heat from the tubes to the air passing through the core. Rows are number of lines of tubes from one face of the core to the other (front to back).

The core is the largest part of the radiator. It's a metal block that features the metal cooling fins that help vent the air. The core is where hot liquid releases heat and gets cooled before being sent through the process again. A heater core is a small radiator located under the dashboard of the vehicle, and it consists of conductive aluminium or brass tubing with cooling fins to increase surface area. Hot coolant passing through the heater core gives off heat before returning to the engine cooling circuit.

The heater core is a crucial component of a vehicle's heating system, responsible for circulating hot coolant through the cabin to provide warmth to the passengers. However, like any other mechanical component, the heater core can fail over time, leading to a range of problems for the vehicle and its occupants.

Faulty heater cores can lead to overheating, and driving with one can be risky. Overheating can cause engine damage, so it's important to be careful if you're driving with a car that has a faulty heater core. There are multiple reasons a car's heater core could not be working properly. One reason could be due to clogging, as the coolant could become contaminated if it's not regularly flushed out. Another reason for a bad heater core could be because of a leak somewhere in the system.

Many new cars have radiators with aluminum cores and plastic tanks that are glued together. This is a cheap and efficient construction method, but when the radiator goes bad, it generally can't be repaired - it's time to buy a new one.
